Postby enigmaymee » Tue Aug 21, 2007 12:22 am

Are there any plans of releasing the 1.43 patch for the linux client? I cant seem to find anything about it.

As far as I'm aware, the 1.42 patch for Linux contains at least some of the fixes available in the 1.43 Windows patch. I'm not quite sure why, but it's probably a result of the fact that the 1.43b came out before Linux 1.42 (at least, I think so...)

In a nutshell, you don't need the 1.43 patch for Linux, as it's already included. I have to agree, it's not nice being given a lower number, though ;)

I'm not concerned about the number but being able to connect to others that are using the 1.43 patch. Wouldn't that be a problem?

Nope. All versions which fall under 1.43 and 1.42 (which include release candidates, various betas etc, not to mention the discrepancy between platforms) can connect to each other, anyways. It is rather confusing, though! :)

OK, great! Many thx for the replies... and I think they should use the same version #'s for the different platforms so it would be less confusing. Anyway this is a great game and I love it anyway.

Sadly, though, there is a constantly blinking A newer version is available: 1.43, even though the linux 1.42 is sufficient. Not too clever to not be able to update, but still tell people they ought to :p
