I was SA, and Bunnet was NA
Defcon 5
I set up the silos in a similar fashion to Ace Rimmer's "Star of India" setup, with airbases to the north. I also set up naval forces in both oceans (a pair of gunlines, four battleships in the Pacific, eight in the Atlantic, with four carriers to each gunline. The remaining carriers I placed around SA), I also spread subs in both oceans (a group of 3 in the north Atlantic I sent north, a group of 3 in the south Atlantic I would ultimately move to the Pacific, a group of 2 near Mexico, and a group of 4 in the Pacific I started to move north toward Bering.
I wouldn't find this out until he launched, but Bunnet set up silos (and airbases I'd discover when the game ended) right along the US/Canadian border.
Defcon 4
Bunnet's 12 battleships appeared in the Atlantic. I wasn't sure how many carriers he had in support, and I didn't see anything he had in the Pacific.
Defcons 3/2
Bunnet's navy engages minr in the Atlantic, and I come out of it worse for wear. All Battleships and most of my carriers in the Atlantic gone. I think I do manage to take a bunch of his battleships and about 4 subs. I launch bombers at Defcon 2 from ground bases and carriers in the Pacific. Bunnet ends up finding my airbases and three silos.
Defcon 1
8 subs strike and take out all my airbases and one silo also takes a hit. That kind of stung. My bombers do score hits on the radars I was gunning for and several cities. My Pacific navy is rather decimated and one sub from a group of 4 is sunk. The three I sent north made it to where I wanted (but I waited too long as they were found and dealt with before I could use them :/ I manage a couple more bomb runs before the nukes on carriers dried out (or the ships were sunk).
Eventually I have 6 subs that do survive and I push all of them through Bering. My northernmost silo is destroyed as well in one of Bunnet's bomber runs. I figured the silos were up in Canada somewhere judging by the AA fire (I didn't know exactly where they were until he launched), so once I got the subs into the Arctic, I sent them westward, almost directly north of the Great Lakes. His silos ultimately appeared when he launched. I started launching all the nukes on silos. I only managed to destroy two of them, as he must've went back to air defense as soon as my sub launches were detected.
Once the sub launches were completed the vic timer started, and I had to wait and see what would happen. I thought he still had enough nukes to take the game, though I still had 5 working silos (one had been hit twice), but as it turned out the defenses held. Man, that was an intense last 20 minutes on the vic timer
Could've went either way. A very good, very tense game. Bunnet feel free to add anything I missed.
Take Care
