Peace And Love finally prevails
I've played Peace And Love probably a half dozen times at 1v1, and this a.m. she finally won. Can't say I'm sorry, as it's nice to see a decent person improve their Defcon game significantly.
Anyway, its her as Europe and me as Asia.
At first I thought I'd use the India as a haven for my fleet and use up my bombers to get the vic timer on my side and send my subs through the Bering for a late game strike. After realizing she had a significant number of carriers above Russia, I stopped my subs and eventually went back through the Bering and swept the Pacific and Indian on my way to the Atlantic. Took out several ships and a few subs that way.
However, my very poorly used bombers were ineffectual (except for a base I managed to find and kill) and the first half of the game seemed to be a struggle to find a real strategy I wanted to use. Towards the end, I had very few bombers left (I think only three when I opened my silos) and so I opted to load them with fighters and try and scout. In the mean time, she opened hers up and saved me the trouble. I got about 10 subs close enough to strike 5 silos and took them out.
Next, I retreated all my ships back to the Indian and filled them to the brim with fighters and spread out to take out any lurking subs. Sure enough, as soon as I launched the first nuke, 3 appeared within reach of a single battleship. Thankfully she had put them right on top of each other and submerged when I started shooting them. Didn't take long to neutralize those three.
When it was my turn to use my silos, I had to kill 100m in order to catch up, came up about 15m shy. It was a good game for sure.

Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast...

Aaaaaaaah, the student has outmatched the master. Congrats P&L!!!
Ace who knows, soon you'll be able to get schooled by her
Edit: Come to think about it, that given her nickname it makes for a funny "caption". In a game of global thermonuclear war, peace and love prevails.
Alright, alright, we got your (subliminal?) message Ace

Dammit! I feel my Defcon fingers itching. I'm sitting on the beach in Oslo, 30C in the shade and 21 in the water.
Way to go, Peace and Love! Good to finally have the Defcon equivalent to a surfer chick around to beat up all the testosterone stacked up in here. Stick around and the bacon will be back if the itching won't subside. *jumps off a cliff to cool my bacon*
