Another Diplomacy Game

Postby OAM » Thu Jun 07, 2007 9:52 pm

Hey all I'm back, not that I've been gone  . Anywho here is another fun diplomacy game I just played. What makes this game different is no one dropped the entire game.

NA: CND A.B.E XIII
SA: P
Europe: Niles
Africa: GP(me)
Asia: Osama
USSR: Custom (He's a demo player :o )

Defcon 5: So I set up deploying most of my fleet in the Atlantic, and send a message to Osama to share the Indian Ocean. He agrees, but I doubt he put it on.

Defcon 4: Osama leaves immediatly, and tells me to join. I do, but I'm very suspicious, because he says he has subs in the Indian to Launch at Russia on 1, now I feel this may be a backstab ploy.

DEfcon 3: All is quite.

Defcon 2: I start moving towards SA, fight his fleet and win with just 4 battleship losses.

Defcon 1: Osama and I immediatly launch subs in the Indian Ocean as per agreement. Much to my delight, he does target Russia, and I do the same. I also take out Europe's radar, or atleast try, but just get a two.

Meanwhile, I begin taking out SA's coastal instalations, it gets him pretty upset, as he goes pretty much all out on me for all the game after that. Attacks on Sao Pablo and surrounding area follow.

However, it looks like SA put all his fleet in the Atlantic and is launing bombers and takes out everything above the end of the buldge of Africa, so thats 3 radars, 3 airbases, and Russia gets Cairo.

Its at this point I get a bit worried. Osama is getting hit pretty hard by Russia and subs, I wonder if the Greens will have any left for themselves. Sure enough, about five minutes later, we see Europes Silos light up. We ask Europe what happened, and he says the US did it, but he stays allied. and attacks back (look at the colateral in the end pic)

USSR leaves the greens and tells Europe to join him. Europe instead launches its subs and owns the USSR. What's left joins our alliance. (two silos and a radar). However he gave us critical information on green's Atlantic fleets. I also launch three subs up there at Europe, I had snuck them up for just such an occasion. Europe is left with just a silo after Osama's bombers come in over the newly opened Russian airspace.

Eventualy I have to pull back my fleets at SA, they are out of planes, but I have taken out two silos. The battleships are good keeping any further strikes by SA to as little as nothing. However, SA doesn't send any more, so I'm wondering what happened. Well, NA left the Greens, witch is just SA and Europe now, and there are flashes all over. Have no idea what was really happinging, but I'm sure it distracted SA from me.

So as the endgame approaches, All us red alliance people launch at SA, Custom is in first, and if we bring SA down a bit all of us will be in the top 3. I make it but Osama doesn't. Maybe if USA hadn't interfered, ohh well. Also, if Europe and na didn't do the allied exchange, Osama would be in last.

Thats the first game where no one dropped I've played or seen here on the forums, so I though I'd share that with ya.

Me too.
Though if the player really is all out (nothing left) it really doesn't bother me.
If your allied to the guy however, and the CPU kicks in it's a different story.

That'll never happen in a diplomacy game with me in it. I always try to see how much I can get away with, even full silo launches directed at a single player.

Having reread your post a few times now Ace its meaning still eludes me. I don't know if it's you or me, but I'm just not getting it

Maybe I wasn't being clear, so what I meant, is that I don't bother if a guy drops out "who's played his part". If he wants to quit, it's a shame, but it will not be detrimental to the game.
Where as someone drops out, especially an ally, that just sucks.

But being the host, you should never drop out by free will/choice (if your power gets cut it's not like you can help it....).

Well, I was specifically referring to games where nobody drops, although I guess I should have been a bit more careful as I didn't read the original post (again) and assumed "dropped" meant from the alliance, not the game.

Sorry.

If no one dropped from the Alliance... well, there arn't words to describe that. But yes, I hate it when the host drops, sometimes I think they just don't know it stops the server, most RTS games I know will "pick" a new host and continue.

With me losing power it looked bad, cause it just hit defcon 1, waves of nukes were imbound on me, and I was the only one not in the green alliance or something like that. So I hope tehy don't think I did it on purpose.
