Perfect Diplomacy Game

Postby OAM » Thu Jun 07, 2007 2:44 am

Hi all. Today, being the first day I have had non-demo defcon, I have already had a perfect game of diplomacy.

NA: LTC John Griffen
SA: GP (me)
Africa: Doctor Doom
Asia: Monekykiss-NL
Europe: Soviet Poonion
USSR: Fidel Castro

When I join up, only Soivet and John are ingame, and have selected a territory, so I wait awhile. After talking for awhile, and more people join, I determin John is pretty trustworthy. So I pick SA hopping to use him as a missle shield. Some of these events might be out of order or slightly inaccurate due to memory and perspective, but John should be here soon, and can add to it.

Defcon 5: Very peaceful, mainly as I left it on real time (oops). NA deploys equaly Atlantic and Pacific, as do I, but I put all my subs for a run on Africa, as Asia is far away, and I think I have a ally in NA. USSR deploys Artic and Pacific. I ask and get assurances from NA of an perminate alliance.

Defcon 4: Movement starts, tensions between NA and Europe. Not much else.

Defcon 3: Africa becomes very agressive. He attacks NA fleets in my waters. I deploy fighter help, but I notice a battle group headed for the tip of SA. Turns out his attack on NA fleets is a diversion, I catch it though, and we kick him just in time, and I wipe our his battleships, but take about 3 carrier losses.

As this has been happining Europe and USSR are arguing about their "boarder" in the Artic. Europe seems to be the agressor, USSR is falling back, plus he tried to declare being neutral earlier.

Defcon 2: While i am thankful for John's fleets in the Atlantic, there is one in the Pacific close to me, with 4 ships visible so I bet subs there too. I warn him three times to back off. He finaly does so but says he was just covering me, in hindsight, I belive him, but never too safe.

Defcon 1: Major bomer strikes and sub strikes from Africa headed my way. I beat them back with heavy causalties, but lose my radar at the tip and an airbase. I divert my Pacific Carrier fleet to aid and it saves the day just in time.

Nukes start taking out African Radar. Europe gets undefended stations North. Na and I get some on the West Coast, plus I get Cairo, Asia mucks about but I diddn't really pay that much attention to Asia.

Europe tries to kick USSR. Most of us don't care so... it fails. Europe leaves the alliance and starts all out war on USSR, the exchange is pretty heavy and USSR leaves, but his fleet wins, but Europe still has a powerfull Atlantic Navy. He joins the red alliance, with Africa, witch is odd, since he took out some of Africa's North outposts.

Meanwhile, I have surrounded Africa with Subs, and launch all 12 at once, plus a bomber wave on the horn. NA supports with around 2 subs. Also, out of sheer luck, Asia launched its subs at the same time, but sent some fighters over to my subs. I quickly assure him they arn't intended for him, and the fighters leave (we were still green at the time). So Africa gets the **** kicked out of it, it is left with like one radar and two silos. On top of that, the last of its navy is defeated by me around the same time. He stays awhile but leaves.

In despiration, Europe launches alot at NA, taking out some bases/radar/silos in Canada. However, uSSR uses this to waster Europe. He leaves soon after.

Asia wants to kick USSR now, so we let him. However, it was more then he bargened for, as not only does the USSR get laid to waste, so does he.

NA and I enjoy a long silence, and soon the coflict elsewhere triggers the timer, and Europe launchs everything at me, as I still have 200. Luckicly, the sheild of NA stops most, and he just takes out radar and damages silos. NA informs me that Asia wanted to kick and backstab me earlier, but Asia was too week to do anything we guess, and laugh it up for 15 minutes and talk about the battles. Asia dropped with 10 left or so from lag.

So the game ends with this score.

As a disturbing end note, Asia had subs on our Pacific coast. He might have been going to backstab us.

Hey, welcome to the boards ;)

And congrats on the perfect diplomacy game! It sure sounds like it was a fun game. Though the number of survivors everywhere seems pretty high.

Well, most attacks to and From the Americas were intercepted. I had three bomber convoys intercepted by Africa before we massed nuked him. Also, alot of nukes were wasted on Africa, with all sides launching at the same time at him, we diddn't coordinate that, as NA and I diddn't trust Asia. Plus, I never fired my silos, and NA only about half of his.

Take a stroll here (http://forums.introversion.co.uk/defcon ... php?t=4663) by the way 8)

Come meet and greet new people.
Then manipulate, cheat, backstab and kill them according to your own hidden agenda
