I was in a six player game, didn't recognize anyone in particular. I drew Europe from the random pile, and I realized that (since alliances built quickly which didn't involve me) that I need to be on my "A" game if I wanted to come through ok.
At DEFCON 1 I launched a massive bomber/sub attack on the Soviet Union, as well as a massive bomber attack on Africa and western Asia (random cities were on so I had a few more options). Once they had counter attacked I opened the silos and went for mid africa and India, ignoring any military targets, and fired subs on the North AMerican eastern seaboard.
I then sent carriers up along the north towards the far east, and a fleet down the atlantic (the america's were engaging Africa and another of my fleet by my shoreline, so I just went around. I caught SA with thier silos open and bombered a couple main cities, then pulled the same on Asia when I landed a major bobmer attack (twelve launches, twelve hits
).
The result:
A new personal high score for me, and very surprising (for me at least) since I was Europe.
