KOTH - Domino v Erasmus J Homeowner (Coup)

Postby ynbniar » Wed May 30, 2007 8:16 pm

This was my first KOTH and it was a very fast paced game played on 5x.

I was EU with EJH playing Africa. I hate 5x so probably put my fleet in the wrong place - I stuck 2x6 BS in the Atlantic and 4 x 3 Carriers above Scandinavia, where my silos were.

I launched 10 airfield bombers into USSR and 10 towards SA from Iceland, just to get them in the air early I suppose.

Close to DefCon1 I sent a bunch of fleet bombers at Northern Africa...meanwhile EJH was sending fighters into southern EU. My direct bomber attack got me some points from Cairo obviously and a few other hits including an airbase, but I failed to discover 2 others next door.

I sent my 10 USSR bombers south with the intention of nuking any carriers EJH might have sitting in the Indian but they got rumbled, though it did give me early warning of a bomber attack from this direction.

I thought I better think about sending my Navy south between SA and Africa and going for it so I started to move my carriers but got in a right mess...it was about this point I was thinking "Where is EJH's bomber attack?". A few seconds later it arrived.

While I was trying to sort out my completely disorganised fleet EJH nuked most of the EU with his bombers. I managed a half hearted counter attack with subs, then launched ICBM's just after EJH started launching his.

The score was close but I'm not sure why...my naval tactics were about as bad as my golf...v. bad

Well played EJH...a worthy King. :D

I hope the king is around tomorrow as I'd like my crown back and that's when I should be able to pick it up.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast...

I'm not sure if he will be...Mr's Homeowner was on her way home hence the rush to nuke...

"Where's my dinner Erasmus?"
"Erm...um...but I won King of the Hill darling!!!"

Cue the sound of an ambulance...
