Perfect loss

Postby ander75it » Tue May 29, 2007 5:13 pm

I played a very nice game a couple of days ago, unofrtunately I don't remember the other players' names, but I'll check a ss when I have time. Anyway, the game was funny for me, because I had no deaths, but still lost. Here's how it went.
6 players, me as NA. Immediately ally with SA, Asia & Africa ally as well. At start, Atlantic SA/NA fleets pound EU fleet, I send a Beam Attack toward the North Pole and then close on UK. Ambushed by a silo in Iceland, I nuke it nicely together with a radar gaining air dominance over the ocean, then launch a massive combined bomber / sub salvo toward London, Paris, etc. Europe is crushed, but most points go to Russia who was launching at the rest of the continent, as EU had screwed up and started launching from his silos to retaliate against me.
My defenses held, but SA took grevious losses. I should probably have backstabbed him. Anyway, we tried hitting Russia (who was leading, having gotten lots of points from Asia, who was probably inexperienced, and from Europe, which left right after he got pounded by me, the loser!) and Africa, but I couldn't really project forces against Africa, as SA had lost the naval battles down there. I still managed to kill Tokyo, Seoul, etc. with subs but it wasn't enough. My Pac fleet intercepted lots of Russian bombers over Alaska, I only lost the radar dish up there and nothing else.
I ended at 200+, with no deaths, having however lost to Russia, which is to be complimented for his quick exploitation of good targets. I should probably have backstabbed SA & concentrated all of my ICBMs on Africa, but that wasn't easy b/c EU was still active & hostile, though lead by the CPU. Well, I had fun nevertheless.
To the next game!
