Hologram vs Diety...

Postby Ace Rimmer » Thu May 17, 2007 12:24 pm

Guess hard light is, better?

Either way, I took on JESUS head to head and came out a winner!

It was a great game, JESUS made me work for every point, well, except the last couple. As Asia vs S. America, I had to work out a way to traverse the world and still not lose too many ships. So, I set out with 85% or so of my fleet with 2 carriers for relay/anti sub and sailed west to Mexico. I figured there'd be little resistance there and I could scout out radar whilst bombing defenseless cities. I was going to use the area near Lima to launch all 12 subs and needed to put a gap in his line of sight.

Along the way I had to fend off nukes and ships from every direction. Over Africa, above Russia, JESUS planes were everywhere. Not to mention that he managed to break my southern line and scout my set up with fighters. I was nervous after that, but he never mass launched his silos, so I felt safe as long as I could hold his navy back enough. After unloading what I could onto the south central area, I sent what was left of my fleet back home for defense to enable me to mass launch against him.

Once in position, I opened up, and the rest is history. For most of the game, I think the victory teetered one way then another, till I was able to use most of my subs against him. I think that was the deciding moments.

I saw the game in the server list, but it was already over when I tried to join :(

Well done Ace. I expect it wasn't easy to get that score.

Forgot to mention that (as was brought up in-game), JESUS got to see my Star of India formation in action. Very effective against his multi-pronged attack style.
