Skynet goes OFFLINE. Bacon restored...

Postby Radiant Caligula » Sun May 13, 2007 1:43 am

Ok, I must admit, skynet77812 is a competent fighter. If somewhat straight forward, but still competent.

We finally had our rendez-vouz this night and it turned out to be a stretch., ending after almost 8 1/2hrs on the game clock.

I was SA and he EU. I took a stance and tried not to push too far up his waters, as I wanted aircover and a constant flow of fighters. I decided to carpet bomb his waters early on and that kept him on the defensive, although I didn't take out that much with it. I took bit after bit of his fleet, and after a while his last remaining carriers were almost empty. I did a sub launch from freetown and spied out 4 of his silos with fighters under cover. I had all my subs intact. I think I killed some of his subs with my nuking. I took out 2 silos with subs and uncovered an airbase on Iceland in the process. Sniping that with one silo lured out his last subs, which he had managed to sneak by my barrier between Africa and SA. I had one pinging sub nearby and took him out with that. His subs did little to no damage and there wasn't much more to do than silo each other out. With only 35 mins left on the timer he was in the lead with me being in the negative. I sequenced his last silos from mine and with only 10mins left on the timer I jumped in the lead.

VICTOLY!!!

I think Skynet has played so much 1v1s that he has missed out on all the excellent players out there (such as myself  ) that he actually thought he was the greatest. Well, if you bring the bacon you must be prepared for someone else to fry it for you... But it was a very good fight. Looking forward to the next.

He deserves credit, because he is good, but mind you I am used to fighting 6plrs and I believe with some training a could be your 1v1 king for a very long time. ;-) :D :D

JESUS spectated and has more screenies I might add later.

Good game indeed! but just remember even a broken clock is right twice a day. I dont think you will be winning the rematch.

very good battle indeed.

like with the majority of 1 on 1's the fleet battle was key to success. RC is correct in his thinking when he talks of nuking skynets subs. he took about 50 percent .

but skynet came back late on with a massive reserve of bombers , which took out caligula,s last battle ships and some carriers , it almost turned the tide . but a couple of last minute fleet nuking manouvers sealed the deal.

very good to watch.

longest battle i've seen in a while. I mannaged a 3 hour sleep, cooked a giant leg of pork and went shopping before a single casualty had occurred.

I think skynet must have been distracted by all of his safari animals that i killed earlier on. Sounds like a close game though...its so frustrating when someone nukes your subs.

Skynet

depends. Is it a 24 hour clock? 12 hour? Does it tell the day of week? Date?

Hey, I'm perfectly aware mayans didn't have CLOCKS. Instead they had circular calendars in stone, wood or threads.

Hence my analogy was a perfect fit. Bacon for me, none for you. =)

Not like me in a 6pl, yes. But 1v1s are more like a game of chess and psychologically much more complex.

I wanted homecourt advantage. I crushed his fleet to control everything. Naval superiority gave me the opportunity to spy out his defenses, which in turn gave me the win.

I obviously am joking. I never took it literally as I am a poet of sorts as well as many other things I hide behind this elaborate mask. You sir are a jackass as I am not the one with the tail.
