The 600+ Quest: Armageddon

Postby Ace Rimmer » Mon Mar 19, 2007 7:11 am

Well, it's been a while since I have been able to play several games in a row, but I just finished doing exactly that...

3 close games, I finished second in the first two and won the last game. See if you can spot Weps alter-ego.

I won't bother with too many details other than in the last game, my team mates left in the middle of the game leaving me with 2 CPUs for allies. I thought for sure the three red territories would all go after me and then mop up the CPUs. They tried but too late and in vain.

I believe that defection was off for all three games, random territories, and the alliances were formed before starting.

I credit my naval victories early on for my relative success.

Interestingly, I placed better than the Devil 3 times, Jesus (or as I called them the anti-Christ) 3 times, and one famous Arch Angel once. It would have been 4 times for Jesus, but he beat me by 5 points one game. Pretty close! :) It seems the powers above/below seem to enjoy Defcon and even join forces. In game two, I had placed all 12 subs single file in the Arabian Sea, Satan was no match for them. In game 3, I did the same thing but with 3 groups of 4, and I launched at the end of the game when the Jesus pair opened their silos. Gabriel apparently wasn't prepared to keep an eye on that part of the globe.

Jesus got off to a good start, but I was right on his heels...
