Alrighty, last night, I had a 6 player round of Default (go figure). It started out with an even 3v3, Russia, Africa, and SAsia(me) against Europe and the Americas. Then Hizbolla(Russia) randomly dropped near the beginning of the game, before a single nuke was launched... oh well.
My remaining ally (africa) and I hatch a plan for semi-mutual destruction, but this was soon scuttled when Russia went CPU and Cairo got hit...
So the game goes on, and I start Defcon 1 with a major offensive on Europe, and Africa said he was attacking only military bases.. Now I can neither confirm nor deny this, but since he kept his word during the entire game, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
So the game continues, and the CPU russian fleet gets pummeled by NAmerica, but mine was nearby and after a game of cat and mouse in the pacific, we met engaged, and I'm pretty sure I destroyed his entire (remaining) fleet with only battleship losses.
Shortly thereafter, I start launching a few silo nukes at an untouched NYC, but then, my mouse DIES ON ME!!!! Since I was in real time when this happened, there were some pretty miffed people by the time I fixed the issue, sorry bout that guys
(Speaking of NAmerica, we seemed to be attacking each other to the very end of the game,
Shortly after or before, I forget, I launched subs at SAmerica, who was silo launching, and got Mexico City + LA and That other city above it and then the small fry in SAmerica and Mexico
By now, I have like 350+ points or something, and over a 200 point lead... Then the victory timer starts, and I stab Africa, my loyal ally*. I had several bombers going South into the Indian in preparation to nuke him, when he questioned me about it, I told him it was a suicide attack on SAmerica... He had also spotted some of my subs earlier in the game off of his coast; explained away as a former knife for Russia (which never occured)
Well, I nuked a bunch of his cities, nothing much though.
End score:
*David, my loyal (almost naive) ally, wasn't really happy that I stabbed him, and pointed out that I had over a 200 point lead, so why the stab?
I have been thinking about this, and have come to the conclusion that I will not stab unless
A: They are ahead, and I have a chance for victory
B: I am ahead, and not far enough ahead.
