Of course a big thank you must go to Commander Rod...I decided to ally up with him rather than Europe (since the USSR/ Europe axis is a bit predicatble).
A couple of mins later old Rod decides to ally up with Africa instead, after placing most of his units...not a tactic I'd have thought brings a lot of success. I hadn't placed a thing...
So I go down the usual ally with Europe route and quickly take out most of Rod's silos and airbases, though somebody else got the points, not sure who, Cassius I think.
USA and SA go into the lead, Europe and Africa knock each other over, then Europe and I launch on USA and SA.
I manage to sneak it, thanks to a late sub launch on SA just as their silos went into launch mode and despite a bit of a pounding from USA during the victory timer...
