no, your avatar is not okay! it seems scaling to 80x80 is not enough. you need to resize your avatar.
please read all bert`s posts in this topic.
I don't expect you to understand the other reasons, but this one should be in your own best interest. Especially once the avatars are more than twice their display size, browser scaling just looks icky.
Standard forced avatar resize program initiated for roflamingo. Next expected step: he changes his avatar to turtles getting it on (which I'll have to accept) or another/the same oversized avatar (which I'll have to delete again).
Small violations (<120 pixels) usually go unnoticed by everyone; the browser scaling isn't so bad then and even for broken browsers, the layout isn't harmed too much.
And yeah, do initiate a request to change avatars. It would be easiest if the forums would just allow uploaded avatars, there size restrictions (for file size, too, which is even more important for some users) can be enforced. I wasn't around back when the forums were set up, so I can only guess why we only have offsite avatars enabled. Server performance before anything else, probably. Remember the search feature getting disabled regularly during peak hours? Maybe it is time for a reevaluation.
