Any way to make it full screen?
Is there a hotkey, or menu command, that will make the game window expand to full.screen???

Great, thanks... now one more question. Can you turn off the background music (and crying, whimpering, coughing effects) but still leave on the sound effects (launch detected, nuclear explosion, etc)?
I am having a hard time finding all this stuff in the small manual that came with the game.

i am pretty sure this is possible but i don`t know how. maybe you must delete a few sound files but better ask k-dawg.

or maybe an other nice player will give you a manual.
edit:C:\Program Files\Defcon\sounds.dat\data\sounds\
there you can find the sound files. maybe try to delete the defcon music files. only the music. not sure what will happen then.

Here, download this file and put it into "Data" folder in game directory. If there is no "Data" folder, create it.

THANKS!
I would have thought that this would be a native in-game option... nearly all games have "background music" and "sound effects" sperated in the volume controls or an option to turn one or the other off. I like the sound effects but not the music... I play my own music when I play

Thanks again.

Hmm. Makes me wonder. There are numerous threads about music to play defcon to, etc. So, how about someone coming up with a way to have a customized music file run in place of the default game music. I can, of course, make my own play selections. What file format would I need to place these in, and where must I place this properly formatted file for it to act as if it were the default music (presumably saving processing power by not having a seperate operation running in addition to defcon)? I would not care so much about sound quality if I could get customized music at minimum cost to connection/processing performance.
