places we visited and we want to share
hello
last week i was at for hiking
it was near slovenia
and to the Karawanken (big mountains )
it was a special feeling there
dark and heavy
the place is called "Märchenwiese" grasland of fairy tales
the mountains from where the fog crawls down are the Karawanken
the next here is also near there
its the name is "Meerauge" so eye of the sea
it has a strange color and it is so clear and it looks weird
also there are bubbles of air all the time which raise from the ground
that has nothing to do with defcon
but it reminds me on lord of the rings atmosphere and i said to yellow and baton to post the pictures
good day for all

Those are lovely.
A few weeks ago, my wife, daughter, and I went to a wedding on the other side of the state (in the happening metropolis of Elko, NV). We took the opportunity to hike up Lamoille Canyon, which is a glacially carved valley, similar to Yosemite, but with much less tourist traffic (and none of the really impressive granite formations).
Katja and I on the way up.
Katja hanging out in her backpack.
Same view as the first picture, though about a mile further along the trail and sans people. The valley is steep on the sides and flat at the bottom thanks to the glaciers that scraped it out over the last 100 thousand years.
At the top of the canyon, there is nice little tarn. Even in July, there was still some snow left on the mountain.
Wendryn and the baby.
