This could be funny [to watch]. Looks like a variant of the prisoners dilemma.

Problem was it wasn't a dedicated server, and defection was not locked-in. So the planned 3v3 turned into a slug-fest VS everyone. I opt out after the first round.

To put it frankly, it was a train-wreck. Nothing more about it.

I do have to say, I watched with amusement over the massive amounts of failure the games had. - see my other post for an example

R3D won, for those who care

Statement from Host
The first Championship I hosted started off bad...
...but as we went on for rounds two and three, it went on better. For those who want updates, you can check out the Facebook Page, DEFCON: No One Wins. We have a 2v2 then 1v1 every week. The winners will proceed to the championships, and thats if they're there. I'll also have updates on here but not as much as the Facebook page. I guarantee to those who had a bad experience with today's tournament, it won't happen again. Since this Championship was the first, it was an exploratory effort to gain some experience. Thanks Everyone.
And Good Job R3D for winning today's match. Check out your moment of triumph at the page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Defcon-No ... 4459257126 WE HAVE IT AS OUR PROFILE PIC!

I highly suggest that you host this tournament on a dedicated server. If your not able to, I'm sure if you ask nicely, a number of people here will offer to run it for you. (I will even supply a Defcon Key if needed.) This will supply recordings, the ability to force team alliances and prevent team defection. It will also give a good deal more of stability to the server preventing most of player disconnects. I also suggest that you give more updates here, other than the Facebook. I know you took some time putting the Facebook page together, but to be honest, this forum is where you will get most of the players dedicated to Defcon in the tournament and where you will get the most feedback.
I really hope you can get this to take off, Defcon Sunday's were a blast, and I'm sure this has the chance to be the same. Just consider what I suggested.
