[2v2 S5] General: Tourney Started; Sign-Ups Still Open

Hear ye, hear ye, all who wish to participate in the next installment of Ace's tourney sponsored by SFCON (season 5), post in bold below.
The rules will be standard Ace Rules, the stats will be better (Senator?) and the games longer, er more enjoyable. We shall also go with FlexiTeams™, so post whether or not you want to be in Team A or Team B (names will come later).

Rules
How scoring will work
Combined score of both team mates, not position, will determine the winners. There is no limit to the number of games that can be played nor is there a minimum.
Game settings
Default everything except you have the option of Random Cities and/or Random Territories. Population, units, victory timer, etc all remain default. You must choose your in-game teams before the game starts.
Pause should be an enabled feature.
What are FlexiTeams™?
A combination of InstaTeams™ and PermaTeams™. You play as an individual with the option of also playing for your team (or not). Each player will have an ELO-esque rank which will be updated each time they play. There will be two 'teams' and players can choose to play a team vs team game (Team Member A/A vs Team Member B/B) or simply a competitive 2v2 (Team Member A/B vs Team Member B/A). Any games with A/A vs B/B will be counted ranked as an individual and team game. Team games are not mandatory.
Why FlexiTeams™?
PermaTeams™ provide great team 'spirit' and encourage competition but due to low numbers of Defcon players, creates unbalanced results (elites vs noobs/newbs, active vs hardly here, etc) and often prevents games from actually starting because you can end up with 10 people from one team showing up with 1 person from the other (when you need at least two).
"Go Team Edward!!", "Grr, Team Jacob" *smacks Team Edward with shovel*
InstaTeams™ provide great numbers of games because anybody can play with/against anybody else at any time but lack team spirit and therefore create a less than satisfying experience in the end. In short, games become a bit dull over the weeks because you are only in the game for yourself and not fighting for something 'greater'.
"Yay! I won. ... Hmm, where's the confetti? Anybody?"
Infusing PermaTeams™ with InstaTeams™ should (in theory) provide a bit of team rivalry and therefore encourage people to play while also allowing games to actually get played

Miscellaneous rules
Drops from a game require a restart if before Defcon 3, up to the players if after (majority vote). That means if you have technical problems, make sure you fix them before playing . Screen shots must be provided for results to count. There will be a specific thread for screen shots.
There are no 'hard and fast' rules except the 'posting of game over screen shot to count'. I expect most to play fair and with decent sportsmanship. I'm not momma kitty and you're not kittens; complaining is ignored. This is a tourney for the players by the players and is meant to provide competitive, rage-quit-free, enjoyable games with a purpose. All players that can behave are welcome regardless of age, skill, or IQ.
