Greetings to my old Defcon friends. I haven't played in ages but just had a hankering for some nukage and cranked up Defcon. I was surprised by the patch (kudos to IV) and installed it. Now it won't accept my authentication key. I've seen this has been a problem for some Steam users but I haven't seen and threads on this topic for those running the program outside steam. Any solutions to help me get my nukes on.

I think the best solution is to reinstall defcon. Directly the latest version..not the old one + patch.

Nightwatch, thanks for the offer but I shouldn't commit. Between work and travelling I'll be a casual player until Nov. At the rate I'm finding games, it will take that long to regain some skills. I've been getting owned in the few games I've played, lol.

Vic, glad you stuck with the game and a Mod no less. Well done.

Is Battletron still around at all? I'm specifically wondering if anyone has heard about how his health problems worked out.

I"m going to set the fleet to condition one and look for a game later. Hope to see some old hands around.
