A polite request

Postby DinoSteve » Wed Feb 17, 2010 3:24 pm

More people seem to be leeching images large enough to be used as wallpapers so here I am kindly asking the following people to please resize and rehost their avatars.

Not really, just made a note every time I saw a large image so it was basically a matter of copy and paste.

Ok, a lot of little effort over a period of time, which equals a lot of effort. :P

I'm 80x130, no mention? I'm halfway in line with the 'rule'.

What are you the forum police? I'm certain everyone will continue to ignore your resize requests, so kindly go away again.

I learned to be agree with him about the avatars size. I have had occasions to run internet explorer from pc work and looking the forum I had a real bad experience. I quote Steve and I add myself to ask you to resize the avatars (above all the really big ones).
Why?

Wow, I can't believe this bitch is still crying about avatars. Look, you're never going to get everyone to change their avatars. People are gonna do what they want; agreed?

However, there is a viable solution. I'm surprised, in your infinite wisdom, that you couldn't manage to figure this out. It's called AdBlock, for Firefox.

http://adblockplus.org/en/

Right-click on any image>Select 'Block image'

and voila! You'll never see the image again! It won't load!

Now, please kindly shut the fuck up. You're a sad excuse for a grumpy old man. That's why your wife left you and your kids don't talk to you.

Wow that was nice.

It's not polite to leech such big images anyway as you hammer the bandwidth of sites.

Hello,

As my name is on the list, i guess my avatar isn't in the proper size (i know i'm very intelligent :P )
I'm willing to resize it, i'm just new to phpbb forums, and i don't know what is the proper size.

My avatar is hosted on imageshack, should i resize it from imageshack ? Can you tell me what size is better for the forum ?

Thanks !

You continue to fail on so many levels.

Avatars are meant to be a maximum of 80x80, as stated when setting it. However, unless you edit the page source for Imageshack it's not possible to resize 80x80. You'll either need to resize it using an online image editor (found through Google) or using an image editing program such as Paint or Gimp

Open with image editing software (like MS Paint or The Gimp), resize, crop, ect. Re-host to imageshack, put in your profile.

Yours at 80x80
