Hmmm, I dont know, but from my perspective, I never had problems. Only one time, and that was because somebody downloaded stuff with the same internet connection..

On my servers there are lag spikes sometimes, which can make players drop. Its an affordable vps (virtual server) which shares its hardware resources, so these kind of events are not really avoidable. But most time a lot of players have surprisingly low ping and packet loss, even players from oversea.
On the other side there are a few players with inveterate bad connections.

I didn't run into any lag issues on all tourney servers so far.

Haha, MOAR!

I've had a couple lag issues, and I've seen 4-5 others complain about it too. During one of the 2v2 matches, I was getting a connect error every 3-4 minutes, but it would correct itself fast. Sometimes, I had to issue orders twice, but it was more annoying than a hindrance.

Also, I've noticed the problem is usually only with one or two players. So, the problem can be helped on their end, as well. Try turning off your modem for 10 seconds and restarting it. If it's been running for a long time, you're sure to get a better ping that way.
