Linux
I'm curious to know if there are actually any other people who are patiently waiting for the Linux alpha/beta. Or am I the only one..?

I'm sure there are a few, however, there's more mac people on these forums than linux people...

Gentoo is pretty cool, but scary when it comes to installation. Grab Slackware or Fedora. (Or whatever else all the other Linux people on here are going to suggest sooner or later). Gentoo is just plain complicated. Crazy-good optimization, but the extra 12 hours for an extra 1% in performance never sat well with me, and heaven forbid if i need to change the installation... another 12 hours later...
If you drink, don't park. Accidents cause people.
Nothing wrong with slack
When I first started with linux, a couple of years ago, slackware was the only one I could configure to run on my, then, exotic hardware.
You'd set up dual-boot, which most distros do automatically now. The one caveat is that Windows doesn't even comprehend that it may not be the only OS on the system, so that has to be installed before Linux.
Don't think about The Game.
