I remove all symptoms at the start and go for higher water resistance first. This seems to help with Madagascar (only has shipyard). I don't add any symtoms whatsoever until all countries are infected.

[Why?]

You've gotta watch it with the resistances, tho... Once you get up to level 3 or 4, on drug resistance, the countries start panicking and shutting things down. It also happens if you just have too many in general. Plus, they're not really needed and they waste points you'll need to kill later on.

You need to save up at least 65 points to start killing people fast. Jump right to the top tier and choose the one that pushes people's brains against their skulls. Add blindness next, or hypersensitivty, and they'll drop like flies.

Agreed, you only need the first row of defenses, occasionally the Drug II. I've played around a bit and add sneezing or coughing or both and get rid of the rest of the symptoms at the start. Then when the disease has made it to four (total) regions, I sell the symptoms and wait for it to spread to everybody. It seems with Madagascar you just have to get lucky with a ship moving out of an infected region into Madagascar.

Finally made it (temporarily at least) to the hall of fame. Muhahaha.

Actually, it's only the third time I've posted that I wiped the Earth clean. You definitely have to get into Madagascar before India/China start shutting things down. If not, you might as well start over.
