me, wrote two times in suggestions and objections, why the hell doesnt anybody listen? wrote:What do i want is to suggest is a choice for a man who lost his opponent.
Imho, it would be right if he could choose one of the following options:
1) Just take 2 points as described in rules. It is good because it is simple but it ruins any chance of getting 3 points.
2) To fight another man who has opponent which doesnt show up. It isnt really fair because level of missing people can be much better(or worse) then the level of man who plays for him, but its a fighting with real person with a chance to get 3 points.
3) A d3 dice roll, where 1 is loss, 2 is 2 points win and 3 is 3 points win. Poor random with 66,(6)% chance to win.
4) To play CPU opponent with, for example, -25 points(or -50 - exact number doesnt matter as long as this is just my suggestion).

As for me, this will do the problem of missing people hurt less and be solved faster and better with plenty of variants satysfiyng all players.

P.S.
Nightwatch wrote:My suggestion:

Name a couple of options and let the player decide what he or she wants to do.
As Gulidar allready wrote:
1) Two points for the missed match
2) Fight another opponent (if it is possible to determine, play someone with the same level)
3) Play a CPU with some disadvantage

Here's my take on (the) Tourney(s).
People are good at:
Saying, "I'm IN  .
Dropping out soon after  ( ).

People are bad at:
Answering Pm's :x .
Being regular enough players to actually make a Tourney work.

Here's what I would do (If I could be bothered  ):
Create a 'Duel' thread, where people could post their victories - which must be verifiable (on a Dedcon server :? ), and if they feel inclined, they could post details of any arranged matches they have.
That way, people could drop in and out of playing as they wished, but could still take part in a semi-organised 'competition'.
Random victories v's (Demo)Newplayer wouldn't count for squat of course, but over a number of weeks/months, a Coodinator, with patience (and plenty of rule changes :P ) would be able to work out out who the better players are, and if compelled, could award prizes etc :?
I'll shut up now...

^I'm pretty sure that's how a ladder works... and they've done that before.

The argument against a Ladder is that people end up playing the same few people over and over again. This way, you could play who you wanted, and the Co-ordi..er, MOR :D would have the headache of putting it all in some kind of order (and I'm sure there would be plenty of room for controversy too 8) ).

Edit: Imagine, if a group of people say, 'I'm IN, and then when you pm one them, they don't answer, you can keep pm'ing people until someone does. ...and people actually get to play, instead of hanging on for someone who might never even play again! :x
Anyway, it's just an idea, from reading some of the complaints people have had about Ladders/Tourneys in the past.

Scores as per below:

I was Africa, Sfericz was Asia.

At least I have turned up for all my games - that seems to be where my contribution to the tournament ends.
