Game of my Defcon career for sure, thanks for all the spectators for watching also. Hope we gave you a great show.

To come soooo close to a W in a game like this against argubly the best player ever brings me much satisfaction still.

Congrats to my friend on the W

Things I hate about Defcon:
1. Splash damage
2. Collateral

Everyone hates splash (when it happens to them).

But why do you hate collateral? Is it because you think it can make you lose a game that you should have won? That is not the case.

A regular kill: you nuke your enemy for 1m kills. That is +2 points for you, -1 point for them. 3 point difference.
A collateral kill: your fighter gets shot down over a major enemy city for 1m collateral. That is +0 points for you, -3 points for them (-1 for the death, -2 for the collateral). Still a 3 point difference.

So it can be argued that when collateral happens to you (from a nuke shot down right before it hits) that you actually got lucky. Because that nuke will do much less damage being shot down over your city than if it actually hit the city.

Vic had more kills but lost because MOR "killed" cities by having planes/nukes shot down over them. Just on the scoreboard they weren't counted as kills for MOR, but collateral for Vic. In the end the person with the most survivors wins, regardless of how much collateral happens in the game.

That's a good explanation, but answer me this: when you nuke your own city or your ally's, why does that go to collateral as well then? That seems contradictory to the plane thing.

I think the game defines "collateral" as "every time you are responsible for killing your own cities/ally's cities (either by shooting down a nuke/plane over them, or by actually nuking the cities with your own nukes)." It's silly and complicated. They should have made it so that if you shot down a plane/nuke over your own city it would count toward your opponents kills, since they shot the nuke. But stuff like this is expected from an unpolished game abandoned by the developers the same year it came out :D

Right this will be the first ever time I will have watched a recording I need step by step instructions who do you think I am Steve Wozniak, you know the real guy that invented Apple and not the other chap who was more of marketing aesthetics megalomaniac hippy. R.I.P though Jobs. Your products still fail and locking me into your ecosystem is as corporate as they come plus you have become a technological fashion company now but still do good top stuff for creatives. Harsh but true.

So plain English instructions please no leetspeaktechnogubbbins or even a link to how to do it would be appreciated.

Will watch while working from home this afternoon and study the MOR/BOR/COW/ROM amalgamation and its evolution or devolution.

Don't upgrade to Windows 10!

Anyway...I was going to write a walkthrough for you but I just realized there's already one on here: click on me. However, the download link for Dedcon in the post is dead. Use this instead.
