Let's not get off track here. This thread was created because baton was a horrible moderator so we created a fellowship to banish him from this forum because kudayta was a spam bot and baton kept unbanning him.

I see the opposite situation, and I've unbanned him myself several times.

Do you agree to unban him again?

Yes, because costs are very little. I think it's rather a question of board moderation, however. I see no major issues with how the forum works and imo the three of us are able to work together; it's natural there will be different opinions. If you want more consistency at the cost of losing other two mods - just pick a single one. Create the said poll, elect an old or a new admin, then ship results to John the IV guy. Or don't and leave things as they are.
Try and decide what do you want.

I think if you unban baton, you introduce a completely new firestorm. It would create a snowball effect that essentially all of your prior decisions come under fire. People will clamor for Sicilian to be reinstated, or even Conflict Europe. I mean if you did it for one spammer/rule breaker then you might as well as do it for all. You won't be able to decipher between any of them because they were essentially punished for the same thing.
Think about it before you do that.
P. S. For the two returnees (MOR and FY) conflict Europe is the worst kind of shit you can get on the forums. He consistently would spam. He would create new accounts on new ip addresses and you simply couldn't stop him until he had a MAC address ban.
Re: Moderators Abuse of Power
Now that's a slippery slope fallacy if I ever heard one.
Can't you make it so the ban/notban is different per thread?

Re: Moderators Abuse of Power
I did think about it. Both CE and Baton spammed stupid threads with nothing but 2-3 worded insults from several accounts. Sicilian collected information with malicious intents. They all have a good reason to be banned. Baton is an exception because people want him back, fine - in the worst case, removing posts takes so little effort.

Re: Moderators Abuse of Power
I've been playing Defcon since 8 years and browsing the forums about as long. In my time here I have never seen this level of conflict between members and moderators. What changed was some moderators steadily overstepping their boundaries and letting their power go to their heads. And by the way this consequence is entirely the creation of the moderators also, they could have handled this in hundreds of ways, but they chose the most melodramatic one possible.

Do you have any reasons why Baton should be unbanned?
