Because I've been here some time. This is the way they and their admins behaved and they have probably said as much in words, that I've forgotten. If you don't know the history of these boards, perhaps you should not try and shape the future.

It seemed all the chances I try to give people SH, Baton Etc just didn't work out. I unbanned SH so he can pm people he said he needed to talk to, I advised him to keep off from posting on the boards he didn't listen so he's banned again. Baton situation is more trickey and deep rooted, goes past these boards and stems from ingame shit talk as well which was brought on here and directed at people of power..*you know who*, so he was banned. But me being the forgiver and trying to settle things down that obviously backfired also since some people have a stick so far up their ass it's hard to figure out a solution where all sides are happy. But it seems some people's rights are more valued than mine regarding decision making.

I overturned his ruling because of the past issues with Baton. An overturn that should have also been communicated.

Edit: To say time on the boards doesn't matter is in fact bs, i've been a mod/admin here longer than everyone currently in this convo. It seemed way back when i was given the position they valued my commitment to this great defcon community. There are too many admins. Even if we have means to communicate, there are decisions we won't be able to agree on. There has to be a single vision among the mods, and I don't see it happening.

Because as moderators, we become equal in power and authority. Time does not dictate ones strength, and it never should.

You have gained privileges. Authority has to be earned, you did very little towards it.

That is how animosity is created within the group - which leads to an even worse power struggle.

You care about the result of the struggle, not the struggle itself, otherwise you could just leave.

The only difference between moderators is opinion, which is then shared through Private Messages - a system that is lacking at the moment.

No, I don't want to be ruled by the backdoor politics. That's all just for some stupid little favors. If you punish people you have to explain yourself public, until you earned enough authority people actually trust you.
