Re: Diplomacy in Action 2.1
I'm OK with the new rules, and agree that it should allow for more games to be played. Given that the server password has been removed, are games now open to anyone?
Apologies for not being able to play over the last couple days. I've been tied up with the holiday here. For our Euro friends, I'll be here, trying to get a game today (1000-1500 GMT-5)

Damn, has this happened half a dozen times before?

Maybe, but we already got two tour games started with the recent and only change in policy of this Tournament. Its for the best, and it will have a end. Plus from this Tournament a great idea may sprout from this after this ends.

Thought it was made pretty clear, I mean why else the tournament server would not have a password, limit less games, and best three count. Unless you have a better idea? But I am kinda finding it silly to change the rules a second time. Lets get 12 players to play 3 or more games and tally the scores.
Re: Diplomacy in Action 2.1
This wasn't mentioned at all. This can corrupt the whole tourney. I can play with 5 noobs and can 100 each game easily.

Well then what should we do?(: Keep the idea of limitless games first 12 win out of who signs up, and only people whom signed up can play? Sounds kinda like the original idea but with more twist and turns. So we can go that rout and yet change the rules again but would hate to do so.

Re: Diplomacy in Action 2.1
With every change of rules comes a change of strategy:
-Like Endless pointed out with the 'open server for everyone'.
-No limitation on number of games played: Play 20 games compared to someone else who can only play 5 during the same timeframe. The one with 20 games simply has a higher chance to score high.
My suggestion is:
-Reset the rules to the original ones.
-Void all matches that happened after the first change of rules.
Again, please be aware that a change of rules changes a players' approach to play the tournament.

Re: Diplomacy in Action 2.1
The tour is nearly impossible to finish by the old rules. At some point the least active players will be left, and they'll have to play a game while communicating with each other to get together at single time, twice or more. I just don't see it happening. Perhaps a player should post in this thread before allowed to play, I don't know, but imo we really shouldn't reset rules to original ones.
Re: Diplomacy in Action 2.1
To me it feels pretty weird to change the rules at all after games have been played with the initial ones.
Could or should games played before the rule change perhaps be voided? Games played with first timers (or equivalent noobs) aren't comparable with games played with only players who've signed up for a tournament.
Agreed.

Group 6 admins will make their decision. If they dismiss the new rules and the games made after the new rules, I think equivalent noob will have no problem with it. So be calm, VSj.
