Well, if you want to play it like that, fine. Just for arguments sake, I think it's pretty ridicilous, but hey, what would I know, I'm just a newbie who nobody knows and no one cares about. You keep on running things as you do.
Since you pay for them. I'm just really really amazed of these solutions... they don't make sense to me. I'm sorry, but they don't, they really don't. I won't pursue this issue anymore, I've made my point clear and so have you.

IN FACT this thread is for a TECHNICAL problem that has been fixed awhile ago.

Back on topic :lol: I left out of the initial post that this is also a somewhat efficient way to DoS a DedCon server by connecting a few clients, vote kicking one of them and leaving it as a spectator. Result: no one can play on that server until the server is restarted or the spec removed.

To the best of my knowledge, there's no way fixing that besides disabling vote kicks or allowing specs altogether. Unless, there would be a realtime parsing of the logs... which I believe is still under-development. But I think that would possibly solve it.

I spoke to Aug a few days ago in public chat, I explained the closed spec chat for AS vs Ru is by my design, I appreciate the effect of just fighting my enemy and having no specs. Btw Zorotama asked about this before and he and I chatted about it, he said that a long while back Bert had a no spec server.
Its true I am considering a change from default cities to random, I asked Mr.K as he plays on it the most, I do think that if I make the change, the As vs Ru (default cities), lets call it that, should end and the games and stats become archiv. And then the As vs Ru (random cities) would begin with new stats and we see how fast Mr.K can rack up the wins. I can be swayed on the cities default or random but not on the spec chat. So please if you think either way, let me know via mail. Btw if its hate mail please send that to Sicilian Hound as he handles all of that. :shock: But if its glowing comments about how awesome and handsome I am and what a great player I am, then yes please send that along, oh and the comments about the server too. :)

As for Battle of Atlantic and Superpowers at war, the spec chat will remain closed, this are full unit mode servers. whilst our mainframe is top gear as our the servers, players defcon clients are the weak spot, its a fact some players can not play on these servers because of their internet and its even more difficult with specs coming into the game. I apologize, but no specs.

I simply want it noted..

Full Variable Unit servers,

  • When I created a regular variable unit servers I came across a glitch. The "how" a Full Unit server happens is simply commands interacting with each-other to cause the full credits.

    DEFCON can not support over 400+ Bombers, 600+ ICBM, 100's of Fighters, and ginormous Naval Battles all going on at once. To much to processes as Bert/Dedcon did not intend for full credit variable. We do what we can to prevent lag on just these two server.

    Spectators joining in a full credit server in mid warfare takes away from the so little bandwidth left for the players in game. In fact certain players cannot even finish a game on a full unit server as they cannot stay connected due to the intensity of the server.

Lastly, don't like it? Don't play on it then, end of story cause nothing is changing. This game mode is not for everyone and is the hardest type of mode ever to hit DEFCON.

Edit: [Had a request on Full Unit Config]
No I will never reveal the secret on how to build a Full Unit server. That secret I will take to the Grave. Consider it a trademark. :P

I am not the overseer of NA vs EU Full Credit, 2v2 Full Credit. You have a problem you contact Lord Haw Haw privately, we will [b][u]NOT[/u][/b] discus this matter in public PERIOD. Lastly don't bother asking LHH or ATOMIC for the Full Unit secret, cause they don't know either.

Your secret is safe with me but what I mean is that it is not exactly rocket science. I figured it out right away without looking at the configurations and I'm not the brightest one here :D
