Map before 1990?

just saw in the snapshots that germany is still devided on your map. is the game set in the cold war - east against west? russia against usa?
if not please change that map. germany is united since years.

I'd say that makes sense, although I don't know for definite.
The period that influences the game most is the mid-late 80's, when the Cold War was at it's peak. It would make sense that Germany would still be split at this time.
Also, you couldn't have the U.S.S.R otherwise.

I think people are still missing the point of Defcon!

i dont want to be pedantic(but i'm afraid i'm being), but i think it's a game.
i agree it has a semi-realistic background, but it's only a game, not a history and geography lesson.
