GROUP 6, Recent server changes
As you all know, recently some of the long time servers have ceased to operate. We at GROUP 6 are in the process of adding new servers to our line-up to insure that Defcon continues to thrive. Please be patient with us as we add and subtract games and try to get a good balance in order to satisfy the entire defcon community. If you find our servers not running properly contact us at, Group6@Gmail.com.

It should be up O_o
Its called GROUP 6 | Diplomacy | Variable
Re: GROUP 6, Recent server changes
For you league-level players our 1vs1 and 2vs2 league games use the same password as the sfCON league did. Lastly, the Diplomacy Variable game is up and running smoothly.

Whenever your balls drop, you can try out the 1v1's and the 2v2's.

maybe better premium diplo with big world, variable units, max pop, only one minute of timer, radar shared in strobomode, flying subs, mobile silos, fighters nukes killers, new optical commands, many new voice order, and the last mega tzar bomb to destroy 10 cityes.
I hate you

Re: GROUP 6, Recent server changes
In my opinion there are too much group 6 servers. I mean that simplicity works better. This is a strange era for defcon..an approach more inflexible would be more profitable.
It's only my opinion but the game is losing its identity...maybe Group 6 could be an help to rediscover it, but it could be also the last smash against it.

What we have got today? Good players has all gone away, few noobs in every Group 6 diplo servers, few decent medium 1v1 players and few noob bashers. Where are nice to spectate or playable 2v2, 3v3 games? Look at Endless' tourney, there's nothing happened in a month, Too sad.

You are right but I wouldn't be so dramatic. (Un)Fortunately we have a life, it's normal that progressively the old guard vanishes. Personally I don't have the time for a real match by now (and maybe neither the brain). However there are still new players with enthusiasm and the right way to preserve the game is make these guys responsibles and smarts about the game. There are great players not so old in defconland (think to deadcows for example) and many others that can become very good indeed. But when you are in the desert you don't have to waste resources. four/five servers with not so much special effects is enough. No confusion, strong rules, less words.
Sfcon was clean, strong, effective..and its site the same.
And finally the olders can ever turn back but if they find the carnival defcon they could prefer to return in the shadow.

Re: GROUP 6, Recent server changes
Since sfcon and quake do not operate any longer the amount of games has dropped overall. Group 6 has just taken up the slack so people have a choice.
Re: GROUP 6, Recent server changes
I totally disagree. The number of matches decreased before the end of sfcon. The reasons are others. As you can see now there are many choices but the matches are still decreasing.
I suggest to Group 6 to preserve the spirit of the game, they have a good chance for it..but honestly giving to laika the superpower, for example, is not a good sign for that. The game changed a lot also after his bad actions.
You don't want understand that the most important element was the community, and the actual crisis is above all a community crisis. I don't speak about forum flames (god bless our flames!) but about a sort of noobish idea of the game and the forum itself.
The abuse of banning actions is only an effect of that; stupid abuse if you think that laika never paid for that and never showed us valid arguments to be excused (only because he's a decent player? Or a friend of someone?).
In the old days the comunity would have solved easily, simply letting him on the corner. But now is the comunity itself that gives him so much power and authority so we haven't anymore the moral credibility to ban a player that quits in one match.
I love laika, the problem is not the person..but the community lost its meaning. If really Group 6, as it seems, loves the game they need to think more deeply. But maybe it's a generational problem..
