Ok, so One Across crossword solver got me two syllables. I'm guessing win, and ter.

But who is this strange man? A right-click-save reveals he goes by the name Gibson.

Scanning through a list of a William Gibson's literary works on Wikipedia yields 'Winter Market', am I correct?

You are right on track, but still slightly off: Winter Market would translate to wntrmrkt not wntrmt :)
