Count me in

I can beta test on winxp and linux (various distros) (Sempron 2600, 512mb ram, geforce 6200)
And sorry about repartitioning school systems as most sensible schools
1) unplug cdrom &
2) set bios password to stop boot options being changed

For someone claiming to be able to beta, you lack basic common sense, which would dictate to post in the threads already discussing such things.

And ooh you can set a bios password. Good for you. And you can uplug a CD rom, w00t. Hardly a difficult task.

And for someone so condecending, you're awfully unaware that he was in fact referring to the practices of his school in controlling IT use.

Why he'd want to beta test at a school computer, however, is beyond me.

What I find most amusing is that the schools don't even know how to set the bios password. They're set by the manufacturers.

our school used to get its supply of computers from RM. Guess what the bios password was.

Two letters.

(but then I became an admin for my school. So I knew all :P )

They soon learn when the 12 year olds with dos boot disks and the format c command take over, but schools are hilarious. they used to put us on imacs, and we broke the cd drive mechanisms all the time, and stuck em back together with chewing gum. :P
