Argh, yes. Why the tagline? Do Americans require one for everything? First it was Uplink: Hacker Elite, and now it's Defcon: Global Nuclear Domination Game.

*sigh*

The original box version was apparently not "American enough", thats all I know. But DEFCON already had a tagline: Everybody dies

Just found 4 boxed copies at the local Wal*Mart. I think they were just trying to compete a little more with the other "flashy" titles. I.e, catch your eye better amongst the hordes of other games on the shelf. Just my $0.02.

Anyhow, I like the original better.

Defcon: Global Nuclear Domination Game.

That's awesome, because now it sounds like a poorly-translated Japanese import.

If they wanted to do that, they should have reused the Darwinia colours

Just found it at my local Wal Mart, only one copy left on the shelf. Six months ago I would have never thought I would see it there...

But didn't that happen already when the game was released?

Second wave I suppose....

I saw the box in several computer game stores in my local area and was a little amazed it happened, actually. They're also different from the Defcon box(es) I ordered specificly for the disc.

And now I'm wondering if I should buy another box to A. Support Introversion and B. To get the nifty patch that's supposedly in the box. Anyone have any pics of it?

Why? The patch is almost certainly an initiative of the distributors in order to encourage people to buy it.

I'll probably pick it up. I've been playing the demo off and on since launch so I figure I owe it to myself and IV to do so. And no, I don't think you have to worry about silly preteens flooding these forums. It's not as if your favorite band just got signed or something.

Oh and Ahoy!

Please do and then we can fully welcome you to global thermonuclear war.
