I hate demo players! Ahhh!

Postby GFree » Fri Oct 27, 2006 2:05 pm

Well ok, I don't actually hate demo players as such. What I do hate is being beaten by them, severely.

I know it's somewhat irrational, but for some reason the idea that a guy who's actually paid for the game (ie. me) is getting his ass kicked by someone who hasn't shown the dedication to purchase a copy (for the cheap price) really, well, make me wanna nuke every demo player I see to oblivion. Grrr! :x

I do give credit to them for being the superior player of course, but... I dunno. Demo players shouldn't be so good! If they're so good buy the bloody game!

Thank you for listening to my rant from my insane mind.

NB. Don't take the rant too seriously. It's just an observation, coupled with being destroyed rather badly in a just finished game. 8)

I think its really good that the producers offered what is a very playable demo. I've a couple of friends who've tried the demo - after I've hosted for them, and all will be buying the game.

As for being beaten by the demo players. Hmm, it is kinda odd. Why do they not want to buy the game? They must be clocking up the hours on the demo to become at least 'reasonable' skills.

Santa - unstable.

You're right. It is irrational
I really don't mind, I like the fact that Intro released a very playable demo, means I have a larger amount of people I can play a game with, meaning I can pretty much always find a game with *someone*.

I dont mind some Demo players as they seems to know what there doing but you do get some who havent the slightest idea on how to play.
Is there much point in buying the full version as it seems that the demo pretty much gives you the full game minus a couple of features anyway.
I could be wrong as ive only got the full version.

Spoons are useless, They don't have the stabbing abilities that knifes and forks have.

chopsticks are good too, if you sharpen the ends.

You shouldn't judge us all like that. I consider myself a quite good player - well, let's leave this humble thing, I am a god of thermonuclear warfare  . However, I will receive the full version soon, on my birthday, to be exact. Demo players are human, too!

Anyway, this is the best demo idea I've seen lately. Playable - multiplayer! - about 33% [2 of 6 players] in one mode, not in the others... you get a good impression of the game, but it's not like you can really play it like that. It's like letting you play CounterStrike, but only up to 3 on 3 on cs maps.

And spoons are good, but you can only poke a certain number of persons at once, and they lack the beating and slashing abilities of a Swiss Knife. They however allow you to enter the cool utility arenas and to duel with other spoons or sometimes a fork, whereas you can only watch the six-person-stabbings for which you'd need a corkscrew. So much like Defcon, ain't it?

Guy of Gisborne: Why a spoon, cousin? Why not an axe?
Sheriff of Nottingham: Because it's DULL, you twit. It'll hurt more.

Plus you can modify a spoon (quite easily) to a cataplut.

There are also those really big spoons, the ones that are used to serve soup, they could probably knock someone out.

In the end, though, you just can't beat a good spork.
