Found a nuclear bomb simulator

Postby PsychicKid » Tue Oct 17, 2006 10:35 pm

Thought it might be interesting to share.

If you know the Lat/Long coordinates of a city, any city, you can go there. Click on Satellite to see it through Google Earth. Max yield in the simulator is 99999 KT. Quite interesting to see the effects of the Tsar Bomba (50000 KT) on various places like New York, Tokyo, and my town of 10,000 people. :P

So, how exactly do I find my Laditude/Longitude?

EDIT: Whatever, as far as I can tell all it does is show a giant red ring...

Use a program like Google Earth to locate the city. You can use that to find the Lat/Long coordinates. Put those into the simulator to be taken to the city.

That "red ring" is the blast radius. :P

It's really really picky, you have to mess with it a lot.

You have to put in something like: 139.46, 35.4223 (Takes you south west of Tokyo, Japan) in order for it to work. Can't have any letters in it, and you may have to reverse the numbers. (I think Google Earth displayed it as 35.4223, 139.46, wheras you must enter it backwards in the simulator)

Kind of annoying to get to work at times, but it's still a neat tool.

bah, simply left-click on the map up to wherever you want to go (make sure you zoom out).

And here I was, assuming that it was a reference to Adam Smith, the father of modern economics :)
