Pre-order?

Postby Bateman » Wed Mar 15, 2006 8:29 am

Wow this game looks exactly the type of thing I've been craving for about a year. Thank goodness someone is releasing a global thermonuclear war game

Is there going to be a pre-order option?, as I will gladly lay down my cash for it.

Also, is it steam only distribution or boxed copies as well? (Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere)

Given IV's history, it is likely that you will be able to pre-order the boxed version a few weeks before the game ships. It is also likely that you will be able to pre-order the Steam version, but I don't know exactly how that works. Assuming that IV continue to publish the Mac version through Ambrosia, I would be willing to be that you will not be able to pre-order the Mac version -- ASW just doesn't do that.

Again, given history, I would imagine that there will be a boxed version that you can buy from IV, a downloadable version from either IV or Steam (likely Steam), a downloadable version for Mac that you can buy from ASW, and boxed and downloadable versions that you can buy from IV for Linux.

Note, however, that both of the above are only speculation, based upon past experience.

Right, thanks for the info. Come to think of it, it's probably a silly time to post that question seeing as the devs are currently in the USA.

Arrg, what can I play to fill the time until Defcons release?

I'm looking forward to this game far too much, hope there is a beta or a demo in April.

Amused me for a moment anyway. Not enough to satisfy my Defcon cravings though... may be time for a bit of galciv 2 to distract myself
