Quite simply... This was made for DEFCON...

Without further ado... Presenting the Big Red Button (Of Doom)!

From Engadget.com: We're pretty sure a heavy duty three-stage arming sequence big red button of doom doesn't do anything other than serve as a rather elaborate prop on one's desk—or feed one's cold-wartime fantasies of nuclear proliferation, absolute power, and, of course, mutually assured destruction. But if they set it up as a single configurable key via USB, well, we'd be in bliss. Though you shouldn't need to ask, you may want to know what application it would open? Internet Exploder, what else?

Several Images here [Google Images] or at the engadget link above. Imagine the possibilities!

Talk about your phallic smybols...
Nothing spells penis-ego than holding 1000 powerful nuclear warhead-tipped tubular rockets under the might of your little finger.

Wow. This should REALLY be used for Defcon.

I am serious. Would there be any way to have some red button device that is linked to Defcon? Once you press it, it will either launch the configuration of nukes that you have preset, or will just launch all possible nukes.

Please...

Wasn't this mentioned in the original PCG article?

I concur. The Engadget article says that the button is really just a configurable USB input device (like a game controller, except with just one button)

So, if IV makes DEFCON's launch nuke command linkable to a game controller... well, it will work!
