if the game Defcon is a must, so the movie "Fail-Safe" (1964) will be

edit: @introversion: you should sell this game with this movie together, maybe as an extension =)

They know we might have a doomsday system, missiles that would go into action days, even weeks after a war is over and destroy an enemy even after that enemy has already destroyed us...
Its Probably in the FAQ

Sigs are disabled on the IV, Darwinia, and Defcon forums. They are enabled on the Uplink forum.

Perhaps a silly question coming from a newbie to these forums, but may I ask why?
Strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Because that's the way we like it!

I believe that the decision was made because people's sigs on the Uplink forums were beginning to get kind of spammy, so, when the Darwinia forums went in, sigs were disabled. However, that decision was made before my time. NeoThermic could probably shed some light, though.

*turns on a light*

That kind of shedding of light?

..no?

Anyway, it was Chris who hated the fact that everyone abuses the signatures with huge images that he decided that the Darwinia forums should not show signatures. When everything was merged and the IV and Defcon forums were added, an effort was taken to keep the situation the same as before, with the new forums borrowing their defaults from the Darwinia forum, which included enabled avatars but disabled signatures.

If you want to see a truly terrifying nuclear war film, then I recommend one called 'Threads'

Was made by the BBC a while ago, but I tell you what, its utterly horrific.

Its done like a documentary, no punches pulled, no hard truthes glossed over.

Very unpleasent.

I found some clips of it on youtube a while ago: http://youtube.com/watch?v=FIWbFT25vdE
When I saw it, it seemed a normal movie, not a documentary.

I think the correct term is Docu-drama, sort of a hybrid version between the two.
