I admit it- I pirated Defcon. But that was ONLY after I had already preordered it from Steam. I legally own the game and all of its contents- clicked Join Game and it said my IP was logged and that if I didn't want to be permanently banned from the servers, I should stop playing it and go buy it. But I already bought it!

Forgive me, Introversion! :(

didn't know that they do it that way, but pirating defcon and allowing it to go online is not the cleverest thing to do ;). But i'm happy that you pre-ordered it :)

Ya know, coming to the IV forums and declaring that you pirated their game probably isn't the smartest thing to do. Feel free to prove me a wrong, but I don't think a preorder constitutes a purchase. And since the game isn't out, it's pirating anyway.

Er, its been well established no one here of any significance will offer sympathy or pity over an admission of piracy.

As for the eternal debate of ethical & moral piracy, give it up. No one wants to know.

I still own the game. And admitting I pirated it- what are they going to do? I paid for it. Admittedly not the smartest thing, yes, but I wanted to get it off my chest- and also let any other people who pirated it that clicking JOIN GAME is not a good idea. :)

They are the gods of this domain, so anything they want. Including, but not limited to, reporting you to the FBI so you can be sent to federal "pound you in the ass" prison.

Guys guys, don't get pissed at him. He says paid for the game, anyway, so it's not like he's really done anything truly wrong.

Actually, it's a videogame. It might be classified as cyber crime, but honestly, the feds have WAY bigger fish to fry than some kid who illegally downloaded a $10 game. Not to mention they can't prove it. :)

And to that dude: I am sorry. I truly am.

The weather is fine here. Looks like it's gonna rain. I hope it does.

On another note, a game simulating terrorism would be KICKASS. I would definitely buy that.

I meant an RTS-style game like an Introversion game.
