Teacher is the worst job I can imagine. I know what I did as a student, so...

xander claims to enjoy so it can't be all that bad. I guess it depends a lot on the school and students.

Right. Teachers have to be great motivators, otherwise their pupils will be distracted. I'd say I was a motivated student, but some teachers seem to make you sleepy just by entering the room.

I have to say that a tanner is the worst job not teacher. THough i do find it funny that about 1/3 of teachers have quit after a year. To be a good teacher you need respect either out of fear or cos the students like you. Which are you xander? or don't you have the students respect? :P
^^Another amazing comment/statement/question/answer/joke/insult/compliment^^

If I were a history teacher I would be too tempted to teach my students lies...

Only you? Man, you have to hear the amazing lies that teachers told us in the university... They even make political meetings in class (too much socialist, communist, and anarchist teachers, i think... well, look at our prime minister and you will understand me better...)

Oh, they fear me! Bwahahahahahahahaha!

Actually, most of them rather like me, but they are young, and will have many years to learn fear. It is actually kind of funny -- I can't go into a grocery store without some kid from one of my classes running up and hugging me, while their parents get this look on their face like, "What the hell? Who is that funny looking man with no hair?"

Do you then pull out your fencing sword and say "I'm Guybrush Threepwood, a mighty pirate!"?

No. I can't say that I have ever done that. I think that if I were carry a foil around, I might get cited for brandishment, at which point I would probably lose my job :)

I though brandishment only applied to fire arms and replica ones? Either way, next time it happens, try it, you'll be surprised ;)

While it does genreally refer to fire arms, it applies to any deadly weapon, or replica, or anything that looks like a deadly weapon. I probably wouldn't get stopped for simply carrying a foil around, but if I started making threats, I would probably get in rather deep trouble (first for making the threats, then for brandishment). As the police around here are generally looking for any excuse (I work and shop in a rather poor neighborhood, with a lot of drugs and violence), I prefer not to give them one :)

That does remind me. I've got Freedom of the City of London, and amongst the intresting clauses this allows me (for example, I'm legally allowed to heard my sheep across Tower Bridge), I'm allowed to go about the City with a drawn sword. I ponder if I could get away with that today....
