Hmm.... Somthing other than WinRAR to open a RAR file...

Thining... thinking... I got nothing. :P

If (and I assume you are) on a Windows box:

1) install WinRAR, and verify it's installed properly
2) make a copy of sounds.dat
3) rename 'copy of sounds.dat' to 'copy of sounds.rar' (not that you're changing the file extension)
4) right click on it (with WinRAR installed), and choose 'extract to copy of sounds\'

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. ;D

you have forgotten, that the moronic microsoft misters have set windows to hide the file extensions so he won't be able to rename it and change the extension since the extension wont even show up.

I was thinking of an alternative soundtrack earlier:

- Prince "1999"
- Yo La Tengo "Nuclear War"
- DJ Krust "Warhead"
- Public Enemy – "Megablast"
- The Beatles – "Yellow Submarine"

it's a start :)

I'd like a large world map poster. That would look great in the office...

He he, the site does look like a emo name, i have to etch people on at least twice before they actually click it. :(

I want a big giant red plushie button, and a big fat plushie Silo!!!
"Surely you didn't mean to press that button just then did you?"
"No, nor will i disarm the nukes."
"Oh well, I will have my Fighters shoot them down."
"Sure you will."
"Oh NOES, ITS BEEN PATCHED!!!"

That's only a setting (which is turned off on my laptop; I can't stand it). You go to Tools, Folder Options, View, and deselect "Hide extensions for known file types."

Then you can change the extension. If someone successfully extracts the music files with winrar, I'd like to know. However, for everyone who doesn't know, in the latest IV news post, they said they are going to release a soundtrack for Defcon just like they did for Darwinia.

YO LA TENGO!

gotta love em!

I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass is the best album ive heard released in '06. and i work in canada's #1 music store. think ive heard about 100 albums in the past 2 months. Akron/Family is great, and the new Decemberists as well. Beck was ok, Fergie sucked, Tony Bennett rocked, Los Lobos was amazing. Thom Yorke and Steve Malkmus as well!

but it all comes back to Yo La Tengo.

Yo La Tengo.
How I learned to stop worrying and love The Bomb.

tired of your old music? tell me about it! ill find you something new, or my parents didn't name me for a truckers life!
