"Xerox", eh?

Why don't we try shortening the name down to "Xero"? I know it's close to and pronounced like "zero", but why not try it anyway? At least, I don't remember it being used elsewhere.

Toby, your last name wouldn't happen to be "McGuire," would it? If so, you could call yourself "Spider-Man." OK, bad idea, but your handle could be in that direction. Think about someone who travels/crawls through the net/web and try to make a name from that. Something spider-lik...

I did when it was first released. Really didn't impress me, but there was one good thing about it.

(Go on take a guess...)

Are you supposed to destroy a database, or a mainframe?

You need to wait for news of the software's/system's destruction to appear in the news. Only then can you email and get paid.

You mean a progamming game, where you program the bots for tasks like destroying enemies? The best one I can think of is an old DOS game called Omega. That's a game where you design, not just program, a robot tank from the chassis to the weapon it uses. You can even create the "arenas" whe...

How about Ghost in the Shell ? That's about hacking people's heads, making them do things to free an AI. This might be a stretch, but Disney's Tron might count as well, since Flynn keeps trying to hack into a corporate system to prove he created the company's hit game. BTW: I have seen Wargames and ...

Unfortunately, once you've deleted a file from the server it's gone for good. Unless you're playing a mod with a file undeleter.

It's too bad, because those files are one of the game's many secrets.

It really isn't necessary to "turn on" the debug.log file. It's automatically created/written to whenever it crashes by itself. On the other hand, if Windows closes Uplink because the game did something the OS did not like, there would be no update to the file. Since you got the message to...
