Re: [Suggestion] for Planning mode

It would be nice if specific items, doors, utilities, etc could be included in planning mode. After you get the blueprint the way you want, you simply hit go, and construction begins according to the blueprints you laid out.

This has already been discussed in depth over here

Re: [Suggestion] Speed up the save process

Glad we have finally reached consensus on this. It is more trouble than it's worth and the effort would be better spent elsewhere.

Personally I don't mind the game pausing while it saves anyway.

Re: [BUG] Mouse cursor is off - unplayable

I've not heard this being a problem for anyone else. What happens if you use 'windowed' mode but with a window resolution that matches your monitor?

Re: Whats In Alpha 21

I hear there's going to be multi-levels at last!

More fruit in the canteen is also a possibility.

Re: (Suggestion) floors/stories

Ah, a wizard, of course! The first thing I'd make my wizard do is collapse all the floors into one. Then I'd get him to hunt down and get stabby with anyone who's suggested multi levels.

Re: (Suggestion) floors/stories

It shouldn't be any harder to keep track of a second floor than a first But it is. It's a lot harder. There are enough complaints about performance already without adding the extra overhead of path finding in 3 dimensions. Performance aside though, how do you propose electricity and pipes would con...

Re: Suggestions from a Criminologist

There ought to be prisoner boss levels if you want to take them on, so to speak.

Er... no.

Re: (Suggestion) floors/stories

I don't think you emphasized just how 'many' times. A more appropriate response would have been "It's been suggested, many x 234525235^3455345454 times before.

Thanks for clarifying 5hifty - that's the figure I have too.

Re: [Suggestion] Disable Hiring During Riots and Fights

I don't think hiring should be disabled during a riot. I do however think that hiring staff during a riot should be prohibitively expensive. After all, no new recruit would want to tackle a riot without danger pay. Secondly, as mentioned, said new recruits should arrive on the next bus (as should al...

Sorry 5hifty, I realised that's what you were saying and was genuinely interested. The scanner joke obviously confused things.

Re: [Suggestion] Speed up the save process

Does any of you two know EXACTLY how the game is saved? In all probability there is no need to create a 'snapshot' before writing to disk as every object/entity on the screen is already in memory, which serves as a 'snapshot' anyway. So when saving, the game probably does 'pause game->write game st...

Re: [Suggestion] Speed up the save process

The implementation of this would be pretty easy, I would suggest the method collecting the savegame information writing the info to a String and I say we need to speed up saving itself. And while SSDs are pretty fast nowadays, RAM is our best bet for saving fast. I agree wholeheartedly! I cannot un...

Re: [Suggestion] Bring back staff-only door setting

I don't know what you lot are prattling on about. Why would anyone want a door to have a 'staff only' setting when there's a staff only door already in the game and specifically for this purpose?
