Finding the game on the serverlist and rejoining. A "join last game" button would be very handy IV. Or, you know, a patch to fix crashing.

If you don't like backstabbing, play another game. I love backstabbing, my main strategy is simple:

Launch all nukes while still in alliance, and a couple of seconds before the first nukes hit, leave alliance. Instant ownage.

Quietly sneak some subs on the shores of your allies, then nuke the shit out of them at the last moment. Makes you feel less bad about leaving their alliance.
