That's just it, if I was building a "GAMING" machine, I wouldn't build the equivalent to a PS3. I'd want to build close to the best just so I didn't have to do it every 6-9 months. I couldn't afford to build a machine that often, I'm not rich. The consoles usually have a life of 2-4 years ...

Doing a dual SLI machine, self built the GPU's alone is 1000 USD. Not counting, mobo, memory, hard drives, LCD panel, case, power supply, KB, mouse, etc etc etc. For a mid level dual sli machine, it's a bare minimum (building it myself) of 1500. Raid is not to be forgotten about unless you want to p...

I haven't seen a dual or triple sli machine with top end GPU's in them (2 or 3 x 500 USD just for video cards) with maxed fast tight timing memory and decent sata raid HD space with a fast quad core cpu for under 4000 USD. If you can get me machine like that for 900, I'm all over it. Until that poin...

It wasn't the industry, it was the customers. Sales are much higher in consoles than PC's as of late. So which would you develope for if you were running a business and trying to make profit? It's both really. The industry pushes for the consoles and therefore the public gets consoles, because the ...

Yeah, only PC ports in that list. Fuck the games industry for giving consoles higher priorities. :P Jelco It wasn't the industry, it was the customers. I got this black screen with steam on one of the updates. The auth key hadn't been updated on steam for the new version. Acted just like you post. Black screen, hear audio hovering over unseen links. The next day steam updated the auth database and all went well. When opening the client, steam clien...

Would the pricing differences have anything to do with majority of piracy areas? Meaning, does UK tend to support their developers more buy buying more and warezing less? Thus inducing lower prices because devs make their money? Then Europe houses more warezers and and warezees, thus devs get less ...

Yeah, it looks like Europeans are getting really screwed in some cases, Left 4 Dead cost me £10 less than it would if I'd paid in Euros - I gifted it to a German internets-friend so he'd get the uncensored version, and he realised just how badly the European prices were screwing him over :( I picke...

Then you can be a standard gvt stock worker and anything over 7 hours a day is overtime. Typical work week is 35 hours and weekends off. Much simplier than college studies. :P

Am I the only one who thinks working is way easier and more relaxed than (college level) studying? :? Mind you, I don't work 10 hours a day (I usually work some 8 to 9, although admittedly I'm probably the one who works the least) Nah, I'm with you, work is generally easier than college study. With...

Darwinia+ Xbox 360

Is Darwinia+ going to be one of the rare hybrid games for XBox 360 that plays with PC versions? I'd highly recommend it being the player base is rather small. I don't think splitting the player base up would be very helpful for the games growth. Just curious to know if IV is going to strive to be on...

You're not the only one who said that. :P I tried to go with "Multiwinia-Ladder.Net (Unranked)" but obviously it's too long. I want to make it clear it's one for the Ladder though. The whole oxymoron thing of it started when I allowed unranked matches in the first place - it's more of a &...

XP, like most 32bit OS can utilise to about 3.5Gigs of ram, give or take. It requires 64bit to use more. Ahhh okay, my memory failed me.... (excuse the pun). XP supports up to a maximum of 4 gig. While server 2003 Enterprise supports up to 32 and server 2003 Datacenter supports up to 64 gig. While ...
