Virii through mountain-tops

Often when virii are moving through some very small hills, they'll cut right through them. This ends up looking very weird, with them appearing and disappearing seemingly randomly. http://andrew.carne.ca/Darwinia/throughmountains.jpg http://andrew.carne.ca/Darwinia/throughmountain2.jpg

Missing Lines Through Flag

I looked back over the last 3 pages, and couldn't find this mentioned anywhere. When you look through the flag of an officer, the tram lines are not visible. It looks really weird to se carts hovering in mid-air.

Indeed. You see, now I can tease you all by telling you about the <cryptic grin> that allows <cryptic grin> and is just so awesome.

In fact, the best part overall is the <cryptic grin> and all the <cryptic grins>.

But as far as I know (read: I know) vim is 'just' a text editor... A damn nice one, that is, I use it myself at times, but... a GUI in vim? Since Java is just a programming language, it can be written in a text editor. Most people use IDE's though since they have nice features like gui layout tools...

Re: Ideas for additions to the Modding System

Instead of just pouring out of a yard like in Yard, some kind of click system could be added - you click on the building and get a list. You can see the sort of thing Im talking about in the Darwinia preview movie, or you can see it on the Factory building in the early phase 1 betas. What would be ...

p I have found that you should not use the right click on a commander to move the darwinians, instead use the gather command. this will cause them to still follow orders should they get stuck on something. Before issuing a right click order, just make sure the path it will go across does not have a...

You can send squads and Darwinians (the little green guys) through them. Check outhere for more detailed help.

I thought they were lanterns too, anyone care to tip the balance one way or another? I'm pretty sure they're kites around souls, since the souls themselves disappear when a kite is made. Once a soul has been made into a kite, it can no longer be collected by an engineer. I guess that means they sto...

spot 1: if your viewing the island from where you start the resource production gear thingy on the far right mountain. there is a bucket support beam there where the darwinians get stuck on all the time. Screenshot would help here. I've always seen then move around the beams. spot2: on the far left...

I find it strange that people are complaining already about modding tools and the game isn't even out yet. Why not just wait until the full game comes out and see how things work?

In RC2, I'm seeing virii blinking again. It's not as bad as it was in the earlier betas, but they still seem to flash sometimes. As well, parts of the glows are disappearing. I'll get screen captures and video clips of this in the next little while.

[RC2] Officers

When DG's go up steep hills, they remain perpendicular to the hill surface. When Officers go up the same hill, they remain vertical. Since an officer is an upgraded DG (not to mention it looks strange to have it remain vertical) maybe it should go perpendicular like the DG's?
