Went through the sound files, randomly deleting and testing. I've cut the size down; I think all those other sounds were spares. It's now just about 2MB in size.

00Davo wrote:Hang on. Insurrection had the rocket too... How did you cut down on file size, xander?

Um... I didn't?

Insurrection weighs in at 4.8 MB. ;)

*checks Insurrection file size* *facepalm*

Could I provide a separate download of the sound files, perhaps?

As far as I know, the files are necessary for the rocket. Not all platforms have all of those files. However, anything for the Games for Windows version (i.e. the XBox controller icons and the shaders) are not necessary to include. The sounds are clearly the main bulk of the mod's size, being the o...

Darwinia Causes BSOD

I've played the awesome Darwinia right through on my Linux box. Being nice, I bought a friend of mine the game. He's running Windows XP Pro (SP1) on his comp. I haven't actually seen the problem, but he informs me that he's gotten it to run once, played a little bit of Garden, and got bored. His ins...

Its very cool to see a new mod come out, do you plan to finish it ? Yes. I plan to finish it. I plan to make it a proper level-by-level campaign. I may even plan to put a branch in. Most of the extra bulk comes from including the files necessary to get a rocket system working (.ogg files, and shape...

LinkUp

LinkUp takes place seven years after the events of Darwinia. The Darwinians have been exploring the Internet for quite a while now. One day, a sudden outbreak of the Virus floods Launchpad! Dr. Sepulveda immediately closes off all trunkports and external connections, securing the rest of Darwinia an...

Indeed. OotS is my absolute favourite comic in existence. The avatar is actually my original art, but it's in OotS style.

You do know you can't sell Steam games, right? They're tied to your account, and if you give the account to anyone it gets disabled.

Just out of curiosity: why did you get both versions? Loved the game so much you wanted it twice? ;)

Also, agreed. That is a nice animated avatar.

The main problem was that players wouldn't know that they needed Armour to pass that point. Simply adding armour to the mission objectives did the trick. Thanks all!

This is demo2 (the prologue) in mod form. Unpack it, drop it in your mod folder, and you are good to go.

That's precisely what all the steps I just listed give you. Your way is certainly easier.

What I'm trying to do: I've got a few levels set up. One of them has three trunkports. However, one of the trunkports is defended heavily by Soul Destroyers. At this point, it should be pretty much impossible to kill them. (No Armour, no rockets) The other two trunkports lead to levels much like min...

The armour is gained in a different level, specifically via a Yard setup. The Construction Yard goes online when activated, right? If so, that's just what I needed. Thanks. :)
