The real issue, to my mind, is that Darwinia wouldn't have been that fun as a multiplayer game. It would have boiled down to slow, painful wars between walls of Darwinians, neither gaining the upper hand easily, while the hyper powerful, infinitely buildable squaddies change the tide of battle sing...

Darwinia Multiplayer vs. Multiwinia
I've played Multiwinia. I've only played the demo, but it's a very different game to Darwinia. Where's my Task Manager? Where are my Darwinians? How am I commanding these "Multiwinians" without an Officer? Why doesn't that Trunkport go anywhere? Etc. etc. ad nauseum. It's just so... differ...

I get it: use the beam from the Consoles to resemble a trace-back effect. I can probably mess around a bit and get this idea going. Do I just force the player to stick DGs onto a Console on each island, so they seem to trace after the final Console is active? But what about the GAME OVER bit? How ex...

Although he *is* kinda manic about it... I mean: that's a lot of typing for a small joke... he's on more than too much caffeine... (and yes, I intended that to read both ways... you might be right) I don't have any caffeine. Or other drugs. At all. Scary. Although I am pretty manic. Even my notes i...

What I'd like to happen...
The level's objective is to reach the final island, open the trunkport on it, and get ten DGs to this trunkport (there's a SafeArea around it detecting these DGs). However, when a connection to this island is established, some visual trace effect (I like the beam idea) should appear along the same c...

That. Was. Complicated. I understood less than half of that. Thanks for your enormous volume of help, but I can't manage to use your techniques... Could you please please please provide step-by-step instructions, some diagrams, or even an example? Please? To clarify, it's the "trac...

Uplink-style "bouncing"?
If you've got a bunch of islands, with Radar Dishes, can you rig up an Uplink style bounce between them, to eventually reach a destination? These dishes should be PLAYER-controlled, hopefully allow for a couple of different bounce paths, have a single eventual destination, and require at least a few...

You are running the Windows version of Darwinia, right? No. I'm using linux-1.4.0b9. The only things to check would be if it works with 1.3 and check it for ILB. Yeah uhhh why on earth are so many of your buildings dynamic? They really shouldn't be. Do all your scripts fire and objectives work? Wha...
