Well, I dont know exactly how this works, but I have been looking into this for a while and I have written a short intro ( as yet unfinished ) that you can find at my site. It should cover most thing you might want to do with orientation of cameras. It doesnt explain how the game does it, but its go...

Max plugins tend to only work with the exact version of Max they were designed for. If you cant get Max 5, my converter will work with at least versions 6 and 7 of Max. Get it at http://www.nihilesthetics.info/darwinia-modding.htm Two problems with my converter on these models that have been release...

You can...

Not at all. Its a perfectly valid question and I can understand why you asked it. Max isnt really a program you can just pick up and use. It does have a steep learning curve. My advice, is you want to get your models into Darwinia, and dont have the time to play with 3ds Max, is to find a model on t...

Ive been asked that question before :) The problem is that converting from ase to shp is basically an exercise in stripping out parameters, because Darwinia doesnt need them all. If you do it the other way round, from shp to ase, you are therefore generating parameters, which is more complex, becaus...

Should get all of the current sections complete in, say, a couple of weeks, max.

Im hoping to keep updating it for a while beyond that, though, and adding new tuts and maybe stuff people send me, like screenshots or tips.

Will I post the shape file up here, or wait until you release your mod ( which looks fantastic, by the way. Very nice! )?
